Brauer Supply Company has a rich history that spans over 138 years. Founded in 1881 by August G. Brauer, the company has been family-owned and operated for generations. Since its inception, Brauer Supply Company has been dedicated to providing quality products and exceptional customer service to the HVAC and industrial markets in the Midwest.

Our History

The story of Brauer Supply Company began in 1881, when the City of St. Louis was experiencing rapid growth and development. The city's location on the Mississippi River made it a major center of commerce, with riverboats bringing people and goods from the East and South to the region. The Industrial Revolution was also in full swing, and the idea of standardized replacement parts for manufactured goods was becoming widely accepted.

August Brauer, the founder of Brauer Supply Company, Recognized the need for a central source of supply that could furnish all parts for all stoves at a savings of time and money to the dealer. With his experience as a salesman for a local manufacturer of coal and wood burning stoves, Brauer saw an opportunity to provide repair parts for these stoves.

Our Growth and Expansion

Over the years, Brauer Supply Company has continued to grow and expand its product line. In 1907, the company was incorporated, and in 1930, it became the first distributor in the nation for a new development in heating systems, the hot-air furnace filter. This innovation improved indoor air quality and paved the way for the development of modern air conditioning systems.

Our Leadership

Throughout its history, Brauer Supply Company has been led by members of the Brauer family. In 1932, Oscar P. Brauer, the son of August Brauer, took over as president of the company. Under his leadership, Brauer Supply Company continued to expand both its products and markets, becoming a leader in the industry.

Today, Brauer Supply Company is still family-owned and operated, with a team of knowledgeable professionals who are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and quality products to the HVAC and industrial markets.
