Thornburgh Companies started as a mechanical insulation contractor in 1987. As the number of our customers and their demands for more services increased, we expanded into the asbestos and lead abatement fields as well as the painting industry. In an effort to stay ahead of increasing industry needs, we saw a demand for a company that could understand, specify, and provide fire stopping solutions not only in high-rise buildings but anywhere that life safety and building preservation could be at risk. So, we set out to fill that need. Fire Stop Technologies is and has been the standard for that in the St. Louis area since 1994 for both fire stopping and fire proofing.

Our Services

Thornburgh Insulation is a full-service mechanical insulation contractor, performing installations ranging from heavy industrial to light commercial. We have a top-of-the-line insulation and sheet metal fabrication shop. For fire stopping, we offer specialized services through Fire Stop Technologies, which includes the installation of fire stop systems and the application of fire resistive spray materials. Thornburgh Abatement provides services for asbestos and lead abatement, allowing for one-stop shopping for all insulation contracting needs. Additionally, we offer innovative products like FoamShield, which saves money, lives, and the environment by abating asbestos hazards and containing particulate matter.

Company History

Thornburgh Companies started in 1987 as a mechanical insulation contractor. Over the years, we expanded into the asbestos and lead abatement fields, as well as the painting industry. In 1994, we established Fire Stop Technologies to address the growing need for fire stopping solutions in new construction, renovations, and existing buildings. Today, we continue to evolve and innovate to meet the changing needs of our customers.
