At Stoneco, we're proud to be a leading supplier of crushed limestone, sand, and gravel in Michigan, with a rich history dating back over a century. For over 100 years, we've remained committed to providing exceptional service and exceptional products to our customers. Our story began with the founding of SE Johnson Company in the early 1900s, which specialized in aggregates, asphalt, and construction. In the mid-1980s, Stoneco became its own entity under SE Johnson, comprising quarries in Ohio, SE Michigan, and Indiana.

Our History

Over the years, Stoneco has undergone several significant events that have shaped our company. In 1994, SE Johnson acquired London Aggregates, which merged with Stoneco in 2000. In 2004, Oldcastle Materials purchased SE Johnson, causing our Michigan quarries to merge with Michigan Paving and Materials. In 2008, Oldcastle Materials acquired CYDI rail yards, which were placed under Stoneco of Michigan. In 2013, we acquired Waterland Trucking sand and gravel locations in Washtenaw County and the Rockwood quarry from Great Lakes Aggregates.
