Founded in 1921 by Charley Markarian, our company has a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. Charley, a pioneering entrepreneur, came to America from Armenia, bringing with him his passion for Oriental Rugs and a deep understanding of the nuances of the industry.

Our Story

Charley's journey began when he arrived in America in 1918, at the age of 18. After a tumultuous childhood in Armenia, he came to America with a dream of creating a better life for himself. With a talent for butchering, cobbling, and, of course, Oriental Rugs, Charley worked tirelessly to build his business. In the 1920s, he established a storefront in Buffalo, New York, and began importing and selling Oriental Rugs.

As the business grew, Charley's children became involved, and eventually, his grandchildren took the reins. Today, the company remains family-owned and operated, with a commitment to quality, integrity, and customer satisfaction.
