Here at Solar & Wind FX, we are a company dedicated to the education and implementation of renewable energy solutions for our clients. Our mission is to provide our clients with the knowledge and tools necessary to harness the power of nature to meet their energy needs.

Our Company's History

We are located on the outskirts of Rochester in the Finger Lakes area of Western New York, in the Town of Bristol. Our president has been involved with renewable energy for over 20 years. He has been working as an Electrical Industrial Controls Engineer in the Rochester area for over 29 years, and broke out on his own in 1997.

Over the years, people have often asked us questions pertaining to renewable energy and where one should go to see a functioning example. This was the driving force behind the decision to build a Green Building in Western NY. The RE Design and Training Center is operational and handicap accessible. But most importantly, the facility is powered by Mother Nature herself via the sun and wind. We have been producing 100% of our own electricity since July of 2002.

We are business members of the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA), New York Solar Energy Industries Association (NYSEIA) and Solar Energy International (SEI) and a New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Eligible Installer for PV systems. We carry the credentials of being a licensed member of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP). We are also an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), Better Contractors Bureau of Rochester (BCB) and New York Forest Owners Association (NYFOA).

Our Location and Focus

We service most of New York State, including the following counties: Monroe, Livingston, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates. We also have clients in the Tug Hill and Adirondack areas. We will do work anywhere in the world depending on the circumstances. So drop us an email or better yet give us a call and ask if we can help you at your location.

We encourage you to stop by and visit us high atop the Bristol hills. However, because we are often at a client's site, please call beforehand to ensure that someone is available to meet with you. We can make accommodations, for the most part, 7 days a week. You can find directions on the Training Center page.

Our client base ranges from straight grid/utility-tied systems to battery-based Off-grid, deep prepper types. At the beginning, our business was built on Off-grid style systems because at the time that's all there was as Grid connection wasn't allowed early on. At this point in time, there are so many companies out there but their experience in battery-based systems is small to nil. Here at the Design and Training Center, we walk the talk every day. Some clients want everyone to know about their systems while others prefer to remain anonymous. If you need we can provide you with a confidentiality agreement. Its exactly this kind of flexibility that has helped propel us as a leader in Off-Grid systems in New York and beyond.
