Welcome to Joseph McCormick Construction, a family-owned heavy highway construction company with a rich history that spans over a century. Established in 1896 by Joseph McCormick, the company began its journey by constructing storm sewers and gradually expanded into general construction work, including concrete work. In 1927, John J. McCormick joined his father in running the business, and in 1953, Joseph McCormick Construction purchased an asphalt plant in Meadville, PA, marking a significant shift towards asphalt contracting.

Today, we are a premier asphalt paving and heavy construction contractor in Northwest Pennsylvania, specializing in asphalt paving, excavation, site development, demolition, and sanitary/storm sewer installation work for various state, county, and city municipalities. We also perform this specialized work for numerous commercial developments and local companies throughout Erie County. Our team consists of six construction crews, including two paving crews and four crews performing excavation, drainage, milling, and utility work.

Our expertise in asphalt manufacturing enables us to produce a wide variety of asphalt mixes, including warm mix, hot mix, and commercial base, binder, and wearing course. We also produce porous asphalt pavements that can be used as part of a stormwater management plan.
