Founded in 1946 by four childhood friends who returned from World War II, the company started as a small concrete block operation. The founders' inspiration came from an old immigrant Czech farmer who was making blocks one at a time. Within three years, it became clear that the backyard operations could not keep up with the demand, and the company began to expand. By 1952, National Block had already established itself in the Ready-Mix concrete field. Today, the company operates a fleet of twenty front discharge ready mix trucks and four block delivery flatbeds, ensuring uninterrupted flow of concrete and blocks. National operates two batch plants and two block plants on site, with an impressive 18,000 square feet of covered storage to protect its products.
