Carroll Concrete, a family owned and operated company, is focused on leading the industry with integrity. It is our mission to provide superior service to our customers and a safe and fulfilling work environment for our entire staff, all while delivering the highest quality products.

Our History

Established in 1973, Carroll Concrete has grown to become one of New England's leading ready-mix concrete companies. Starting as Newport Sand & Gravel Co., Inc., the company was originally incorporated in New Hampshire in 1959 as Eaton Jones Sand and Gravel Co, Inc. The name was changed in 1973, when it was acquired by Shaun P. Carroll. At the time, the operation consisted of a single sand and gravel crushing plant in Newport, New Hampshire.

Over the years, Carroll Concrete has continued to expand its operations. In 1979, the Company entered the ready-mix business with the acquisition of a batch plant and three ready-mix trucks that were set up at the Newport Sand and Gravel pit. The acquisition and opening of other locations and operations followed. In 1986, Carroll Concrete opened a ready mix plant in Bristol, NH, and in 1987, a ready mix plant in W. Lebanon, NH.

In 1995, Carroll Concrete acquired Calkins Ready Mix, with four ready mix locations: Coventry, St. Johnsbury and Guildhall VT, and Woodsville NH and one sand and gravel crushing plant in Guildhall, VT. In 1997, Carroll Concrete acquired Tilcon/Arthur Whitcomb's Ready Mix operations, with six locations: West Lebanon, Keene, Peterborough NH, and acquired Lane Construction's Ready Mix plant, Brattleboro, VT.

In 2000, Carroll Concrete started a Construction Supply Division in Newport, NH. In 2001, Carroll Concrete acquired A.G. Anderson's Ready Mix Operations with three locations in Vermont: Barre, Johnson and Swanton and one sand plant in Highgate, VT. Additionally, Carroll Concrete acquired A.G. Anderson's Commercial Concrete Contracting Business.

Construction Supplies: With a retail store in Newport, NH, and satellite locations at all our concrete batch plants, Carroll has high-quality construction supplies available for your project.

Redi-Scapes: Redi-Scapes offers all the design elements you need to create your next hardscaping project from start to finish.
