S. J. Wood Construction Company is one of Maine's most reputable and trusted residential and commercial construction companies. Our company has been established since 1980 by Stephen J. Wood and was incorporated in 1983.

Steve, the founder, initially had a different career path in mind, following the family tradition of becoming an engineer. However, his interests were more varied and he soon found himself drawn to the world of construction. Starting out as a one-man operation, Steve built only one home per year. Over a 15-year period, the company grew steadily until we felt we could offer a valuable service with customer satisfaction in both custom residential and light commercial construction, as well as construction management.

Our goal has always been to build a quality product with the end result being a satisfied customer. We can start from a basic idea and provide you with a complete design or we can work from your plans. We will build on your lot or one that you purchase from us in one of the three subdivisions that we currently own. Whether it's commercial or residential, we can assist you from site development to the finished product.
