Gail Scott, the founder of Lotus Designs Landscaping, grew up outside of Akron, Ohio, and moved to the Sandhills in 1978. With a passion for transforming outdoor spaces, Gail established Lotus Designs Landscaping in 1987, providing exceptional landscaping services to the residents of Pinehurst, Southern Pines, and Sanford areas, as well as Raleigh, NC, Charleston, SC, and Houston, TX. Over the years, Gail has expanded her portfolio to include not only residential projects but also commercial projects, such as schools, churches, and individual businesses.

Gail currently resides on a small horse farm just outside of Southern Pines with her husband and is proud of her two grown daughters. Her love for nature and the outdoors is evident in her work, which combines elegant design with practical functionality.

Our Process: Customized Landscape Design and Build

At Lotus Designs Landscaping, we take pride in providing personalized services tailored to your specific needs and preferences. During our initial meeting, we discuss your vision, style, functional use, and plant material preferences for your landscape. Once we have a clear understanding of the project scope, we provide you with a firm quote and timeline.

After designing the Landscape Plan, we schedule a follow-up meeting to review the overall layout and materials. If you prefer, on-site consultations can be made in lieu of a plan. Once the Landscape Plan is finalized, we begin the installation process, breaking it down into various areas such as planting, irrigation, patios, fire pits, arbors, and more. Our estimates are firm unless additional work is requested.

Gail works closely with the installation team and clients to ensure the highest quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Our services include Landscape Master Plans, Complete Planting Plans and Garden Designs, Arbors and Fencing Layout, Swimming Pool Designs, Outdoor Kitchens, Patios, and Decks, Walkway, Driveway and Retaining Wall Layout and Details, Water Garden Designs, Terraces, Screened-in Porches, Herb Gardens, 3D Rendering, Complete Vegetable Garden Layouts, Maintenance Schedules, Photo Illustration Renderings, and Plans Exportable to most CADD formats.
