Bergerson Construction, Inc., has been a leader in the construction industry for over five decades. Founded in 1968 by Darryl Bergerson, the company began with a humble start, focusing on building demolition and the resale of salvaged materials. Over the years, Bergerson Construction has grown and expanded its capabilities to include a wide range of marine construction and piledriving projects. Early Years and Growth

In the early years, Bergerson Construction focused on marine demolition and the design and construction of marina floats. The company's capabilities expanded with the acquisition of a fixed-lead piledriver, allowing us to take on more complex marine construction projects. Throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, Bergerson Construction served a variety of public and private clients, concentrating on marine construction and piledriving. The company's geographic area of operations also expanded during this period, with projects located throughout the Northwest and Southeast Alaska.

Ownership Transitions and Continued Growth

In 1986, Dennis Bjork joined the Bergerson family and served as general manager for many years. In 1998, Mr. Bergerson retired, and Mr. Bjork took over as owner and president. Under his leadership, the company streamlined its focus to concentrate on public works and government projects. However, private projects continued to remain an important part of Bergerson's work. In 2009, Greg Morrill and Mike Puckett assumed ownership of the company, with Greg as President/General Manager and Mike as Vice President/Construction Manager. The experience both of these gentlemen gained while working many years in the field and in management under the leadership of both Mr. Bergerson and Mr. Bjork made for a seamless transition.

Under this new leadership, Bergerson Construction continues to focus on marine and heavy/civil construction for a variety of clients, while continually monitoring changes in design, construction methods, and materials. We strive to provide the best value for every client and ensure that all projects are completed with safety, integrity, and quality at the forefront.

Our marine projects include piledriving, seawalls, bulkheads, cofferdams, fender systems, bridge and pier structures, floating structures, dredging, shoreline protection, marine outfalls and intakes, waterfront remediation, and demolition. For land-based projects, we specialize in piledriving, deep foundations, bridge construction, and shoring.

Our fleet of cranes, barges, and other construction equipment allows us to serve both marine and land-based projects. We also maintain a fleet of sectional barges for a nimble approach to a variety of marine sites, including lakes and non-navigable bodies of water.
