• Palace Geothermal: Our client had a contract to drill and install 63 geothermal loops to 300' deep on a job that was black shale covered by a few feet of clay. Their Compact Sonic Rig had trouble with the shale, leading to plugged or packed bits and painfully slow progress. We sent them a modified PDC to try out, and they drilled the remaining 60 holes using the same PDC bit. This resulted in a significant reduction in time and costs.
• Griffin Coal Mine: This client required drilling bits designed to maximize ROP (Rate of Penetration) for their specific application.
