History

Our firm boasts a rich history spanning over 45 years. Founded in 1975 as Obrist and Appel, the partnership between Alfred Obrist, a civil engineer, and Bruce Appel, a landscape architect, envisioned a unique blend of technical expertise and artistic vision. This innovative approach marked the beginning of Appel Osborne's journey toward becoming a leader in the field.

Alfred Obrist retired in 1987, leading to the inclusion of Marshall Goff as a new partner. With a keen eye for design, Marshall complemented Bruce's technical skills, solidifying the firm's reputation for exceptional site engineering and commendable design capabilities, ultimately changing the firm's name to Appel Goff & Associates.

In 1997, Marshall pursued new endeavors, prompting Bruce to invite Peter Osborne, the firm's associate at the time, to join as a partner. The firm was then renamed Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture, continuing its legacy of innovation and collaboration.

After Bruce's retirement in 2008 and Peter's in 2021, the current partnership between Vincent Pietrzak, Timothy Bonaparte, and Cory Jenner has taken the helm. Drawing upon the firm's lasting foundation, this new generation continues to champion the synthesis of landscape architecture and site engineering, proving that this powerful collaboration remains the ideal approach for successful project development.
