Our Story

Doomis Custom Builders is a family-owned and operated firm founded in 1973 by brothers Tom and Mike Doomis. With over 50 years of building experience, they have made a name for themselves and their team as one of the premier custom construction and renovation firms in the Chicago suburbs. Their emphasis on using quality products and materials, along with their attention to detail, has earned them a reputation for excellence in the industry. When you step into one of their projects, you can sense the pride in craftsmanship and personal dedication that has built their reputation over half a century.

Our History

The Doomis brothers have worked together to grow this family business, with extensive experience as carpenters and overseeing every aspect of the design/build process. They treat their clients' homes as if they were building for their own family, ensuring that every project reflects their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. Mike and Tom have not lost sight of what has made them a leader in the custom home and renovation industry, believing that "quality is so true that, especially in the building industry, you get what you pay for. To us, craftsmanship is an art."

Meet Our Team

Tom Doomis, a partner since 1973, is involved in every aspect of the business, from sales and marketing to daily operations and project management. Mike Doomis, also a partner since 1980, focuses on sales and marketing, with a strong presence in various business and community networking groups. Jon Doomis, a partner and project manager since 1998, started as a laborer and has worked his way up to project management, with a passion for carpentry. Paul Doomis, who joined in 2023, serves as both an Office Manager and Project Manager, bringing an engineering background and a focus on project accounting. Genee Parrish, an internal project manager since 2022, brings over 30 years of construction experience, ensuring that every project is managed efficiently. Alyssa Doomis, the new Office Manager, handles day-to-day accounting operations, and Kyle Ashmus, a carpenter/supervisor since 2022, oversees construction projects with a background in architectural/structural engineering.
