Hartranft Lighting Design is a woman-owned business that has been providing lighting design solutions for over 150 years. Our team of experienced professionals has completed more than 2000 projects, and we are dedicated to making quality light accessible to everyone. We have offices in Washington DC, Charlotte NC, and Boston MA, allowing us to serve architects, developers, and owners nationwide.

Our mission is to help realize the vision of commercial, institutional, and mixed-use residential spaces through responsible lighting design solutions. We understand that the quality of light impacts our lives in many ways, including mood, wellness, productivity, and security. That's why our independent lighting design team informs the design and budget process at conception, construction, and ultimately the quality of interactions in your spaces.

Our Team

Our team at Hartranft Lighting Design is composed of highly skilled professionals with expertise in various areas of lighting design. Our team members include Andrea Hartranft, Diane McNabb-Rodriguez, Shoshanna Segal, Paula Ziegenbein, Sarah Boyer, Samm Dubey, Debra Gilmore, Jessica Krometis, Catherine Leskowat, Nora Ludden, Leanna Pape, Robert Smith, and Yuko Taniguchi.

Our principal, Andrea Hartranft, is a Fellow of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and has received international lighting design awards from the IALD and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) as well as AIA awards at the regional and national level. She holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering, Lighting and Lighting Psychology from The Pennsylvania State University.
