Trend Manufacturing

Trend Manufacturing Company, founded in 1970, is a wholesale laminate countertop manufacturer that has been providing high-quality countertop blanks to fabricators in the St. Louis area and surrounding markets in Missouri, Iowa, and Southern Illinois for over five decades. In addition to our manufacturing capabilities, we also operate an in-house fabrication facility, offering custom fabricated products to home centers, dealers, builders, and general contractors throughout the St. Louis area.

Our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service has cemented our reputation as industry leaders in the laminate and stone countertop business. Today, we are a third-generation business comprised of five separate countertop manufacturing operations located in St. Louis and Kansas City that are either wholly or partially owned and operated by the Liebigs. These companies furnish and install laminate countertops, Cambria quartz (Lexus), and residential and commercial casework for builders, dealers, remodelers, and General Contractors throughout Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Southern IL.

Our History

Our story began in 1970 when Ted Liebig Sr., a World War II veteran and POW survivor, commenced operations of Trend Manufacturing Company along the Spirit of St. Louis Blvd. Ted initially operated a one-man sales organization in Hanley Industrial Court, where he sold a product called Textolite from G.E, which was the first generation of high-pressure laminate used in the production of postformed countertops.

In 1975, Ted Liebig Jr., who had returned to St. Louis from Phoenix following a decorated career in the Air Force, became the President of the company. Over the years, Trend Manufacturing has expanded its operations and relocated to its current location at 18181 Edison Avenue in Chesterfield, MO.

In 1993, the company faced a major challenge when the Great Flood of '93 deluged the entire Chesterfield Valley with over eleven feet of Missouri river water. Trend Manufacturing, along with hundreds of other companies, were immediately forced to suspend operations indefinitely until the water subsided. After over three months of intensive cleanup, and thanks to the resilience and determination of the entire team, the company was able to resume operations.

In 1996, Ted Liebig III returned to St. Louis to join the business, and Trend Manufacturing acquired 50% of Countertop Supply, a small postforming countertop operation in Gridley, KS. The company was renamed Countertop Trends LLC.

In 1997, Trend Manufacturing underwent a major software conversion process and completely re-engineered its manufacturing operations by installing fully automated countertop equipment utilizing the latest technology in the industry.

In 2000, the Liebigs started StoneTrends LLC and officially entered the stone countertop business. This marked a significant expansion in our product offerings and capabilities, allowing us to provide our customers with an even wider range of options for their countertop needs.

In 2001, Trend Manufacturing acquired a 50% interest in Double C Industries in Blue Springs, MO, and immediately expanded into the commercial casework business. This strategic move allowed us to further diversify our product offerings and provide our customers with a comprehensive range of solutions for their building and remodeling needs.

In 2004, Trend Manufacturing acquired a majority interest in TrendStone LLC in Lenexa, KS, and commenced its stone fabrication business in Kansas City. This move marked a significant expansion of our operations and further solidified our position as a leading provider of high-quality countertop solutions in the Midwest.

In 2005, StoneTrends and TrendStone LLC became the exclusive Cambria dealers in the St. Louis and Kansas City markets, respectively. This partnership has allowed us to offer our customers the highest-quality quartz countertops available in the market, further enhancing our reputation as industry leaders in the laminate and stone countertop business.
