We are located in Kalispell, Montana; just south of the gorgeous Glacier National Park. We quarry our stone right here in the Northern Rockies; helping homeowners, architects, masons, and contractors bring the majestic beauty of natural stone into their homes and building projects.

Our Company

Montana Rockworks is one of the largest suppliers of thin veneer, architectural, and landscape stone in the region. Our team is led by Owner Brad Mercord, who founded Montana Rockworks over two decades ago. Brad's thriving specialty-stone landscaping firm outpaced production capabilities at the local quarry, prompting him to buy the local quarry, upgrade it, and get the job done. This habit has since driven the company's phenomenal success in the stone industry. Under Brad's leadership, Montana Rockworks was awarded "Entrepreneurs of the Year" by the Montana SBA in 2000 for their outstanding success.

Our Mission

At Montana Rockworks, we focus on cultivating long-term relationships with clients, supplying them with the stone they need. We connect with a national network of quarries, providing business partners with essential stone. For over a decade, we have supplied clients with the oldest and most beautiful stone in the industry; stone that is found only here in Rockworks' Montana quarries. Our Chief Cliff Series, which includes McGregor Lake, Castle Rock, and Moose Mountain, is a regional argillite stone and is growing in popularity nationwide. Building with stone provides a sense of permanence, and building with billion-year-old stone is eternal. Whether the look desired is the coveted "Mountain Mystique" or European Chalet; "Parkitecture" or Contemporary Asian-influenced, Montana Rockworks will supply the project with superior stone quality, when needed and wherever the project may be.
